Ever wonder how Best of SLC winners are selected? The program is designed to balance community support with real customer feedback so the results reflect businesses that consistently deliver strong experiences across Salt Lake City and surrounding communities.

Here’s a simple look at how the process works.

Community nominations

The process begins with year round community nominations. Local residents nominate businesses they trust and recommend, helping identify companies that deserve recognition in each category.

Nominee selection

After the nomination period closes, our team reviews eligible businesses and selects up to 10 official nominees per category. Nominees are chosen primarily based on Google reviews from the past 12 months, helping highlight businesses with strong and consistent customer support.

Community voting

Once nominees are announced, the community has the opportunity to vote for their favorite businesses. Each person may vote once per category during the voting period.

Final scoring

After voting closes, results are compiled. Community votes are combined with Google reviews from the past 12 months to determine which businesses earned the highest overall scores and move forward as finalists and winners.

This approach helps ensure Best of SLC winners are not only supported during voting, but are also consistently backed by real customers throughout the year.
